/ May 29, 2025/ Events, News

From 24 to 26 June 2025, the Department of Electronic Engineering of the Tor Vergata University of Rome will host the National Intercomparison of 5G Measurements, a technical reference event for environmental operators and professionals in the telecommunications sector, promoted with the patronage of the RESTART Foundation.

The initiative will see the use of the private 5G network, acquired by Spoke 8 (University of Rome Tor Vergata) and realized as part of the RESTART project, offering an advanced operational context to test and compare the most recent 5G signal measurement methodologies, in light of the transformations introduced by technologies such as massive MIMO, beamforming and TDD duplexing.

Main objectives:

  • Field verification of the SNPA guidelines
  • Technical update and methodological harmonization
  • Exchange of good practices between bodies and operators of the National System for Environmental Protection

The intercomparison represents a fundamental moment to guarantee transparency, scientific rigor and environmental safety in the implementation of new mobile networks.

RESTART Foundation, in line with its mission, supports this event as a concrete example of institutional collaboration and responsible innovation at the service of the territory.

The National Interconfrontation is, in addition, sponsored by Arpa Piemonte, Arpa Lazio, the Italian Association of Radiation Protection, the National Institute for Environmental Protection and Research, and the National Interuniversity Consortium for Telecommunications.
