The NEST Connect 2025 – Energy that changes the future event, promoted by the NEST Foundation, Italy’s first extended partnership for the research and development of sustainable energy technologies, was held with great success in Rome on 13 May. Present during the event was the RESTART Foundation, where Dr. Adele Del Bello – Program and Research Manager – presented the main research activities of the RESTART Programme.

At a time of particular turmoil for the European energy sector, the initiative represented an important space for debate between institutions, academia, research and industry, to reflect on new energy models and concrete solutions for the future.

The event addressed strategic topics for sustainable development:

  • the impact of artificial intelligence on energy efficiency and production
  • the evolution of innovative technologies that are transforming sustainable mobility;
  • the resilience and security of energy networks in a scenario of geopolitical instability;
  • the prospects and possibilities of green hydrogen and the electrification of maritime transport through cold ironing.

Also presented during the day were the new NEST Foundation cascade calls for proposals, aimed at supporting innovative projects in the field of green technologies.
